Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Legal Locate mobile application and related services (the "Service") operated by Legal Locate ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. Attorneys must hold a valid, active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

2. Description of Service

Legal Locate is a technology platform that connects individuals seeking legal assistance ("Clients") with licensed attorneys ("Attorneys"). The Service allows:

• Clients to submit descriptions of their legal matters for review by attorneys in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Attorneys to review case summaries, accept cases, and submit offers.
• Clients to review attorney profiles and offers and select an attorney to represent them.

Legal Locate does not guarantee that a Client will find an attorney, that any particular attorney will accept a case, or that the legal representation provided will achieve any particular outcome.

3. No Legal Advice

Nothing on this platform constitutes legal advice. All information provided through the Service is for general informational purposes only. You should not rely on information on this platform as a substitute for professional legal advice tailored to your specific circumstances.

4. Attorney Accounts

Attorneys who register on Legal Locate agree to:

• Provide accurate BAR identification information and maintain an active license in good standing.
• Only accept cases in jurisdictions where they are licensed to practice.
• Comply with all applicable rules of professional conduct.
• Not submit offers or accept cases they cannot competently handle.
• Independently determine their own fees. Any fee figure entered through the Service is a non-binding estimate; the binding fee is set directly with the client in a written engagement agreement.

We verify BAR credentials at registration. However, it is the attorney's sole responsibility to maintain their licensure and comply with all applicable ethical rules.

5. Client Accounts

Clients who use Legal Locate agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information about their legal matter.
• Understand that submitting a case does not create an attorney-client relationship until directly agreed upon with an attorney outside of this platform.
• Understand that any fee type, amount, range, rate, or percentage shown in an attorney's offer is a non-binding estimate for comparison only, and that the final fee is set directly with the attorney at consultation and in a written engagement agreement.
• Not include confidential, privileged, or sensitive personal information in case submissions — see Section 6.
• Not use the Service for any fraudulent, illegal, or abusive purpose.

6. Case Submissions — No Confidentiality or Privilege

Case descriptions, intake answers, and other information you submit through the Service are shared with verified attorneys licensed in your state so they can evaluate your case and apply to help. This sharing happens before any attorney-client relationship exists. Information you submit through the Service is therefore not confidential and is not protected by attorney-client privilege.

Do not include in your case submission:

• Admissions or statements about what you did or did not do — describe the charge, citation, dispute, or official paperwork instead.
• Government identifiers such as Social Security, passport, or driver's license numbers.
• Financial account numbers, medical records, or other sensitive documents or details.
• Confidential or private information about other people.

Save the full details of your situation for private conversations with the attorney you hire. Communications you have with an attorney after you retain them may be protected under the applicable rules of professional conduct and evidence — but information submitted through this platform is not.

7. User Conduct

All users agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, or defamatory content.
• Attempt to circumvent platform fees or contact other users outside the platform to avoid them.
• Use the Service to solicit business outside of its intended purpose.
• Interfere with the operation of the Service or attempt to access systems without authorization.

8. Fees & Estimates

Platform fees. Legal Locate charges participating attorneys a flat subscription fee for access to the platform. This subscription is a fixed amount that does not vary with, and is not contingent on, whether any client retains an attorney, the value of any matter, or the outcome of any case. Legal Locate does not take any portion of, and does not share in, the legal fees an attorney charges a client. The Service is free for clients.

Fee figures are non-binding estimates. Any fee type, amount, range, rate, or percentage an attorney provides through the Service is a preliminary, good-faith estimate offered for comparison purposes only. It is not a binding quote or a guarantee of final cost. The actual fee is determined solely by the attorney in their independent professional judgment, set directly with the client at the initial consultation, and memorialized in a separate written engagement agreement entered into outside this platform.

Contingent fees. Where an attorney indicates a contingent fee, any percentage shown is illustrative only. The binding percentage, costs, and terms must be set out in a signed written fee agreement as required by the applicable rules of professional conduct. Contingent fees are prohibited in certain matters, including most criminal matters and certain domestic-relations matters.

No interference with professional judgment. Legal Locate does not set, cap, suggest, or standardize the fees charged by any attorney, and does not direct or regulate an attorney's independent professional judgment.

We reserve the right to modify our platform fee structure with reasonable notice.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LEGAL LOCATE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED $100.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Legal Locate and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the app or by contacting us.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Colorado.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
